Spaleck takes part in the “We do something” campaign week
Bocholt pupils visit sustainable mechanical engineering company
Do you know how many different ways companies in the mechanical and Plant engineering sector in Germany are involved in corporate responsibility?
First-hand answers are provided every two years during the nationwide “Wir unternehmen was” campaign week, in which Spaleck and around 80 other member companies of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) took part during the week of September 19-23, 2016. The aim of the campaign week is to present the special economic, ecological and social actions of the companies to the general public in more detail.
Our Spaleck team was particularly pleased to welcome a project group from Bocholt’s Mariengymnasium to the VDMA’s “Wir unternehmen was” (We’re doing something) campaign week. Under a very similar motto, the 14 to 19-year-old pupils were in the middle of setting up their own companies, which they fictitiously set up in small teams at their school.
The 19 young people and their two teachers quickly engaged in a lively exchange of experiences about (green) growth strategies, sustainable corporate management and corporate social responsibility. One student was able to speak for both sides with special “insider knowledge” – because during the summer vacation she was an active support for our construction department as a student intern.
We wish our visitors and their five start-ups sustained good business!
