Spaleck employees support orphans in Romania
Long-term help for the “Casa Dorca” project
Leonard Leinstein, Managing Director of our Romanian subsidiary SPALECK S.R.L., and his family have been involved in an aid project for orphans for many years.
“The Casa Dorca project gives children without parents a home. There are currently 22 children aged between 3 and 21 living in the volunteer-run facility in the small mountain village of Prilipet. They put their heart and soul into giving the children a better future,” reports Leonard Leinstein. “In addition to the urgently needed financial support, it is the attention, care and warmth in particular that are required,” Leinstein continues.
On St. Nicholas Day, December 6, Mr. and Mrs. Leinstein visited the children’s home together with Andreas Ahler, Managing Director of SPALECK GmbH & Co. KG. Of course, they had Santa bags for every child and a promise to renovate the building’s ailing heating system. A total of 12,000 euros was raised by the Leinstein family, Spaleck S.R.L. and our German parent company.
Andreas Ahler: “It is very moving to see the enormous joy of the children and the tremendous commitment of the volunteers. Our small renovation aid today is just a drop in the ocean. That’s why we would now like to support the project from Bocholt in the long term.”
The first ideas were born on site: “In addition to the purchase of a new kitchen, there will be regular donations of clothing, bicycles and toys in the future,” say the Leinsteins and Andreas Ahler happily.
