This week, our employees Christiane Büdding, Gabi Mumbeck, Karin Spaleck and Michael Wolf presented a donation of EUR 2,500 to Birgit-Bäumer-Borgmann and Stefanie Könitz-Goes from the volunteer project “Wunschwagen”. For four years now, volunteers from the Workers’ Samaritan Federation Germany have been fulfilling a special heartfelt wish for people in their final phase of life with specially converted vehicles. The “Wish Wagon” takes the seriously ill together with their family to a place of their choice free of charge.
The donation from Spaleck will now support the new ambulance specially designed for the Westphalia/Münsterland region. Gabi Mumbeck: “The last phase of life is a special challenge for the seriously ill and their relatives. We are supporting the project so that those affected here in the Borken district can use the “Wish Wagon” to fulfill their last wish free of charge.”
Stefanie Könitz-Goes, ASB employee: “There are already 16 vehicles in use across Germany. The “Wish Wagon Project” is largely financed by donations and sponsorship as well as voluntary work and ASB’s own funds. We are delighted that we will soon have our own vehicle available in the Borken district to fulfill people’s wishes. The handover of the donation by employees of Spaleck Gesundheitszirkel is also the start of publicizing our “Wish Wagon” here in the region.”
Further information on the project, volunteering opportunities and contact details for using the vehicle can be found at www.wuenschewagen.de.
