6th SPALECK Employee Health Day
Motto: Health from head to toe
Bocholt, May 19, 2017 — About 170 employees accepted the invitation to attend SPALECK’s annual Health Day at the company on Friday. Under the motto “Health from Head to Toe,” the medium-sized company offered a varied program designed to promote and strengthen the health of its workforce.
In addition to raising awareness and providing information, the focus was on active participation at information stations in the company’s own fitness center: In a hands-on lecture on “Life Kinetics”, sports scientist Rene Wienen, supported by the AOK, showed how small exercises can be used to train the brain through movement for more concentration and less stress. Two further magnets for participants were the vein function test and the vascular age measurement, which were carried out by Ms. Hoffmann and another colleague from the Arens’Marien pharmacy in Bocholt. In a matter of minutes, both measurements revealed important indicators for the prevention of venous disorders and cardiovascular risk factors. Another highlight was the running analysis by LEX running expert Björn Weier, in which the participants were able to learn a lot about their individual running styles. There was also a “T-Wall” reaction wall provided by AOK as a break activity, where employees tested their reaction and coordination by quickly touching illuminated dots.
Once again this year, Spaleck combined its Health Day with a charitable donation: The company donated 1,000 euros to the outpatient children and young people’s hospice service OMEGA e.V. in Bocholt. The voluntary organization supports families in which a child or young person has a life-limiting illness or families in which a parent is dying.
