A beautiful fall day, 7:30 a.m. in Bocholt: 28 trainees and three of our master craftsmen set off on the 2016 training trip.
The day’s program includes the Mining Museum in Bochum and exciting company insights at two of our customers in the Ruhr region.
“The atmosphere was absolutely great right from the start,” our trainees Ina and Steffi beamed the next day. “We went straight from Bocholt to the mining museum in Bochum and even went underground there! The high temperatures, the cramped conditions and the darkness made the museum a very special experience. We got to know the work of the miners up close, including their physically demanding working conditions.” Our trainees were able to try out individual machines that are still used underground today in a very practical way.
“Afterwards, two of our customers offered us an in-depth insight into their machine production,” Ina continued. Equipped with safety shoes, safety goggles and helmets, our young trainees saw live how the components they welded and manufactured are further installed as supplier parts at the customer. Steffi: “As we were visiting on a Monday, we were lucky enough to be able to watch the workers in the production halls going about their daily business. Together with the detailed explanations during the two tours, it was very easy to follow the process – from the supplied part to the end product.”
The lunch break was also very well received: “We were welcomed with sausages, sandwiches and drinks and were able to fortify ourselves and take a deep breath with all the information,” both report with a twinkle in their eyes. The unanimous conclusion in the evening: “In addition to the many professional impressions while looking over our shoulders, we were particularly impressed by the very warm and cooperative hospitality with which we Spaleck trainees were received. Thank you once again for that!”
